100 Days. 21 People. One Finish Line.

The 2026 VITAL 100 crew crossed the finish line on April 14 - and they brought their best tips and tricks with them.

On January 5, A group of people from across the USA said yes to 100 days of movement. They laced up in rain, sleet, sun and snow, squeezed in steps between meetings, walked through grief and recovery and chaos - and showed up anyway.

On April 14, they crossed the finish line together.

What kept them going? Not willpower. Community, purpose, and a few really smart strategies. We asked everyone to share their #1 consistency secret - and what came back was honest, specific, and genuinely worth stealing.

Below is some of the crew: their faces, their miles, and the tips they'd tell their Day 1 selves.

What Got Us Here

21 people. 21 real secrets. Here's what actually worked.

Amy I knew some days I wouldn't want to do anything - so I'd calculate the trade-off and put in more work another day. Micro goals and tracking made it manageable. Once you declare publicly, there's no choice but to deliver.

Carolyn I walk for sanity, core for sustainability, and dance for joy.

Denise VITAL 100 motivated me to keep moving. Having a team goal made all the difference.

Diane My secret was simple: do something, even with just a few minutes. I kept the goal small - move for my health, every day.

Ellen B. My secret was adding exercise to my calendar as a real commitment - not an option. If it's scheduled, it happens.

Ellen I. I'm simply happier when I'm active. Fresh air does the rest.

Eric It's easier and more fun to win as a group.

Evelyn I see movement as a privilege - so I don't waste it.

Hans I'm a black-and-white thinker, but VITAL 100 gave me a daily floor to stand on. It helped me embrace the gray area - moving beyond the basics without the pressure of an unreachable goal.

Jessica I'm a single mom of three, one with autism - life is hectic. What kept me showing up was my why: I need the endurance to keep up with my 4-year-old, who runs without understanding danger. Knowing that made every walk non-negotiable.

Jodi Signing up and committing - even imperfectly - was everything. I squeezed in walks whenever I could.

Julia Make the journey the exciting part. I kept finding ways to make the process itself worth showing up for.

Julie Get ahead early - bank extra miles at the start. When I got sick later, those banked miles meant I still finished strong.

Kim What kept me going was how much I love moving outdoors. Peace, serenity, and a big universe - especially climbing up to the mountain goats.

Kyle Aim for consistency, but when life gets in the way, lean into it. Enjoy the long walk on your day off instead of stressing the miss.

Mary Ann The key word is enjoying - not forcing. Your body knows how to heal; allowing it to is the miracle. Trust the process.

Michelle I'm energized by group movement - and at my best, I energize others too. Walking and talking, walking and marveling - it's my favorite way to move.

Nicole Don't wait for a "real" workout. Extra blocks, the long way home, chasing your toddler at the park - it all counts.

Pam I accepted the challenge and remembered that commitment every single day. Following through with my word was my breakthrough.

Rosie Having a walking buddy at work - Jessica - made showing up easy. Outside of work I had to push myself, but reconnecting with the outdoors reminded me why I love it. This community gave me the motivation to keep going and find out what I'm capable of.

Sergio A year ago I had ACL surgery - six weeks of no weight-bearing. It showed me fast how much we take movement for granted. Finishing this felt non-negotiable: not just to complete what I started, but to keep showing up for myself.

This V100 crew showed up. For themselves, for each other, and for me. Each time we do this challenge, I'm reminded: we are truly better together.

xx Libby
